Here we will compare two different sized floor scales. The popular pallet sized 4 by 4 floor scale vs. the 4 by 5 floor scale. Many warehouse operations use pallet jacks to move up pallets on top of the scale, the 4 by 5 floor scale is the correct & safe size scale when using a pallet jack. First we will show a standard size pallet jack going up on our 4 by 5 floor scale & its correct position on the scale. Second we will show the same pallet jack going up on our 4 by 4 Floor scale & its incorrect position on the scale & ramp. Now we will repeat the same exercise adding a pallet with a live weight of 420 pounds. The 4 by 5 or 48 inches by 60 inches floor scale will provide the pallet jack with the space it needs no problem, Reason being that there is 55 & half inch between front & back wheels of a standard pallet jack. The 4 by 4 floor scale will not clear a standard sized pallet jack & it is very unsafe when dealing with heavy loads. Therefore, We strongly recommend for all customers to purchase our 4 by 5 floor scale or bigger when using a pallet jack.
