A Weekend Exploring Gambier Island

What a beautiful surprise Gambier Island was! While looking for an Airbnb for the weekend, my wife spotted a cabin on the island. We thought it could be a lovely retreat to recharge but we didn't expect much of it. As soon as you arrive, you start losing yourself in the lively forest: birds chirping, trees talking, and not a single soul until we've reached Killam Bluffs! The view is epic and totally worth the climb. The next day, we just walked around, heading toward Avalon Bay. Initially, we planned to kayak around the island but the sea was a bit agitated. It was a hot day. We were lucky to meet a local who showed us the way to the ice cream stand. The ice creams were delicious. If we had more cash, we would have tried some more. The best part though is just the vibes. The time slows down and you feel in a different world, forgetting about your daily life. Perfect escape an hour away from Vancouver! We loved Gambier Island and we definitely want to come back and explore other parts of it.
