Dawg's Waltz — riffs on photos of flowers taken by my sister Andrea. The soundtrack is a live performance by Jerry Garcia and David Grisman of David's instrumental "Dawg's Waltz" at the Gold Coast Concert Bowl in Squaw Valley, CA on 8-25-91. Dawg's Waltz was on an all acoustic album called Jerry Garcia/David Grisman with the same line-up as the band that performed at the concert. It was released about 7 weeks earlier on (7/1/91) on David's Acoustic Disc label. Click on the "X" to close the ad, if any. An article in glide Magazine said about this concert: "Just two months before his tragic death concert promoter Bill Graham’s Bill Graham Presents outfit teamed up with the Squaw Valley Ski Corporation to throw a two-day festival at Gold Coast Concert Bowl in Squaw Valley, California on August 24 and 25, 1991 called the Squaw Valley Summer Music Festival. . . . [There were numerous other performers. Jerry and David’s] band for this performance featured Jim Kerwin on bass and Joe Craven on violin and percussion. For the encore, the quartet was joined by Bela Fleck on banjo for Grisman’s Eat My Dust along with the Grateful Dead classic Ripple." It is my hope that I will be able to share this wonderful performance in this video without complaint. If If Jerry's Estate or David complains, I will take the video down. No copyright infringement is intended; the rights to this music are owned by the artists. Since I am using this music for non-commercial purposes to educate those not familiar with these wonderful musicians and to share it with those who have not heard this performance (which has not been released as an album), I would hope it is considered "fair use" under Section 107 of the Copyright Act of 1976.
