Can Immigrants and Refugees REALLY maintain their culture in America? [Hu Plig]

Happy New Year! This video started out as me just trying to learn HOW TO do the Hu Plig ritual [soul calling ritual]. But, after lots of research, I realized how important Shamanism is in the Hmong culture. So, I had to make the video longer and tell you what I've learned and share a scary experience that happened to me as well. I was never super religious growing up. But, I've been thinking, maybe the Hu Plig ritual isn't JUST a religious practice. Although the rituals a shaman does are rooted in animism, maybe everyone can partake in it no matter what religion...just like how everyone has started to meditate or do yoga even though those practices come from religions such as buddhism, hinduism, etc. What do you think?
