Welcome to today’s walk! We are walking the streets of Tondo, Manila, the Philippines. Tondo is one of the most densely populated areas in the Philippines. Our walk takes us through the small back streets and alleys. Though often called a dangerous slum full of poverty, Tondo is quite large, and on our walk today, you will mostly see regular Filipinos living their lives here. Though we have to be careful, most of the area in this video is safe to walk and not extremely poor. Here, we can see life being lived as it is, pure and unfiltered. Is this poverty? Personally, I think it's all relative. To most people here, this is life: neither poor nor rich. They know there's Ferraris in BGC, the wealthy area of Manila, but they also see one-armed, one-legged people making their way through traffic, through the day, through life. I think gratitude and perspective go a long way, including for us as a visitor and viewer. Join me as I walk and talk, open your eyes, and explore. And don’t forget: wherever you go, people are people, taking care of their families as best as they can. Thank you for coming along on this walk! If you like these walking videos, please subscribe, hit the notification bell, leave me a comment, I will walk more. My legs won’t thank me, but I feel grateful I can do this. Much love, Coconut Man
