"Heroes" from Musikladen (1978, 21 May @Radio Bremen Studio 3). David Bowie with Carlos Alomar, Dennis Davis, George Murray, Adrian Belew, Roger Powell, Sean Mayes, and Simon House. Definitive live performance featuring Davis’ spectacular drum fills, Murray’s galloping funk bass, Belew and House’s Fripp/Eno inspired searing drones, Carlos’ joyful grooving, Mayes’ steady keys, Powell’s power synth, and David’s passionate lead vocals. A brilliantly innovative yet faithful version of one of the very finest rock ballads. (This was part of an uploaded video of a re-broadcast that had been on YT several weeks after David’s passing, notably with better sound than other Heroes-only videos on YT at that time.
