Small tires can be very challenging to remove and mount to a wheel. This method works well for small tires that will not fit on a tire machine. Tools needed: *Vise *Steel rod that fits inside the hub wheel and is long enough to give about 6 or more inches above the wheel's side when mounted on the vise. 2 sets of Vise grip pliers Long flat screw driver or flat bar. Wd40 or equivalent, or soapy water. The smaller vise grips I use in the video to grip the wheels rim are ground smooth to keep from cutting into the tire as I spin it around the wheel. For more examples of ways to break the beads, change the tire, and air-up a tire like in this video but using Only basic tools, watch this video • Lawn mower tire change and air up usi... After installing the new tire, and you're having trouble getting the tire to air up/ beads to seat, use a ratchet strap around the center of the tire to squeeze the tire and the beads will expand out to make contact with the wheel rim. Add some air gradually and remove the ratchet strap while slowly and carefully adding air. These tires usually only need 14 psi.
