245: How to CLEAN SUNBRELLA Marine Canvas Fabric Cushions + 2 Special Cleaning Formulas Included!

Sunbrella Marine Canvas is comfortable and lasts a long time; however, it does get nasty dirty and is hard to clean if you don’t know what you’re doing. Being full time cruisers in the tropics, we’ve learned a trick or two to make cleaning your Sunbrella Canvas easier and more successful. We show you the products you need (simple ones that you already have on board) and the process to go through to eliminate mold, dirt, mildew, grease stains and anything else that is making your cushions look terrible! 2 STEP CLEANING PROCESS - entire process, not counting wait time, takes about 15 minutes per cushion. Step 1 Outside in the sun, thoroughly wet cushions with water and spray on Sunbrella Recommend Cleaning Formula (link below) while gently scrubbing with a medium stiffness bristle dish brush. Let sit in the sun for 15+ minutes while the chemical works and you start work on other cushions. I recommend the following homemade cleaning solution which I believe is an improvement on Sunbrella’s suggested cleaning solution - see link below. Blown Away’s MARINE CANVAS CLEANING SOLUTION - 1 Gallon 1/4 cup Dawn Dishwashing Liquid 1 cup common household chlorine bleach - not oxygenated bleach 1/4 cup concentrated degreaser such as Simple Green or Fabululoso Water Sunbrella Cleaning Formula: https://www.sunbrella.com/clean-sunbr... Step 2 - here’s the trick to tackling the tough stains - if necessary Wash off dirt from step 1 cushion process. Next spray Blown Away Special Touch Up Formula Recipe (see below) on remaining tough mildew, dirt and grease stains and rub in with a brush and let sit in the sun for 15+ minutes. Rinse with fresh, clean water.
