I recently went to a hidden village in Uttar Pradesh, one that doesn't even appear on maps, to uncover the reality behind the famous Chikankari embroidery that celebrities wear. What made this experience truly remarkable was meeting the artisans behind this centuries-old craft. In this episode of Unboxing Bharat with ‪@FlipkartStories‬ : I met artisans, who learned this intricate art just by watching others. I sat with Ramkali, who stitches late into the night to earn her own income. I spent time with dhobis washing many cloth pieces daily in chemicals that can burn their hands. I met Aakriti Rawal and Poonam Rawal, who run House of Chikankari, a famous clothing brand. While Chikankari thrives globally, the artisans who made it famous remain invisible.
