→ The final flight of this very long, and exhausting trip — an American Airlines Airbus A319. What an end to a first-class run :) Bakersfield, for the longest time, only had American mainline service to Dallas (also, an Airbus A319) and just recently upgraded their regional jet service to Phoenix up to one daily mainline. Personally, I prefer mainline aircraft over regional jet aircraft. What do you think? I chose to sit aft of the wing for this flight as American was asking a whopping $110 for their main cabin extra seats up front — no thanks. Not for a 1-hour flight. This flight was surprisingly open — 70 open seats. How long do you think American is going to keep flying mainline aircraft on a route with less than a 50% load factor? I don't think very long. But, for the time being, it was a nice upgrade!
