The Oaks Trail - Blue Mountains Classic MTB

Just a sample of some of the highlights of The Oaks Firetrail and The Oaks Singletrack…… This 29km track is awesome fun for all riders, from beginners to advanced. Just two riders today, myself and my 15 year old son, with the entire track pretty much to ourselves. The track starts at Woodford in the middle Blue Mountains, and traverses the wild Blue Mountains National Park through some gobsmackingly beautiful scenery to Glenbrook. There's hills galore, both steep up and steep down, for the first 12kms of firetrail until you reach the Helipad - but all those strenuous climbs get rewarded with some super fast downhill runs on this (mostly) easy section of firetrail. At the Helipad, you are greeted with the fastest speeds of the 29km track, with a further 6kms of blissful downhill firetrail. When you finish the 18km fire trail section, at The Oaks gate, it just keeps on giving good vibes with an 8km super flowy singletrack that starts as a Green rating and ends up going Blue. There are some rocky sections and nice tech flow here. For those who are pedalling back to Glenbrook Railway Station, there is a final road climb to help you remember the pain. Welll worth the effort for those who want edurance training on longer rides and for everyone who loves riding through stunning National Park scenery.
