Solo backcountry winter wild camping with a pulk

I don't like to be cold, but I do like camping and backpacking. I live in Michigan where the backpacking season is short. To fight off cabin fever, I decided to take a solo winter backpacking trip in the snow. I decided I would go winter camping with a pulk - a sled for pulling my gear. This would allow me to bring a lot more gear than I would have on a regular backpacking trip. The pulk attaches to my waist so I can pull it behind me as I hike. I constructed my own winter camping pulk - essentially an ice fishing sled rigged up with some rope, pvc pipe, carabiners, and bungee cords. I drove north to Nordhouse Dunes near Ludington, Michigan. It's a great place for backcountry wild camping. There were a few other hikers out as I loaded up my sled and headed into the woods. I didn't hike far, just over half a mile, before turning off the trail and heading into the woods to find a good backcountry spot for a tent. There was a good amount of snow, with more snow expected overnight while I was camping. I was determined to be warm and comfortable. Did the hiking pulk work? Was I able to stay warm when several inches of new snow fell overnight and the temperature dropped to 20º F (-6 C)? Watch the video to see how it went!
