Al Laurence Di Meola (Jersey City, July 22, 1954) is an American fusion guitarist, raised and living in New Jersey. He was part of Chick Corea's band Return to Forever and played with Paco de Lucía, Herbie Hancock and Gonzalo Rubalcaba, among others. He mainly plays acoustic, but always with a plectrum. His trademark is fast soloing with strings damped by the right hand, which gives the whole a very rhythmic character. Stanley Clarke (Philadelphia, June 30, 1951) is an American musician and composer. He became known as an innovative double bassist and bass guitarist in jazz and fusion. In fusion he is considered, next to Jaco Pastorius, as the most important bassist of the 70s. Jean-Luc Ponty (Avranches, September 29, 1942) is a French jazz violinist. Ponty was the first violinist who went further than playing swing. He was influenced by non-violinists who played much more modern jazz such as Charlie Parker, John Coltrane and Clifford Brown. His first records are therefore very bebop. Later he became one of the big names in the jazz rock movement.
