Southern Lemon Pound Cake Recipe 3 cups sifted cake flour 1/2 tsp baking powder 3 cups sugar 1/2 cup crisco shortening 1 cup softened butter 5 large eggs 1 cup milk 2 tsp vanilla 2 tsp lemon Sift together cake flour and baking powder In a different bowl cream together shortening, sugar and butter. Beat until combined. Beat in one egg at a time. Then take creamed mixture and pour over flour mixture and combine using the milk until fully combined. Pour into a greased tube pan and shake the air out. Place into a 325 degree preheated oven for exactly 1 hour and 30 minutes.
