It is attached on top of a BG-Pro (or BG-Sentinel) trap that is supplied with CO2. The Counter automatically differentiates mosquitoes from other insects entering the trap, counts them, and wirelessly transmits the results to a cloud server. With the high resolution of data (every 15 minutes), you get new insights into daily mosquito activity patterns, adult density indices, population dynamics, and effectiveness of your control activities. The BG-Counter is the ideal replacement for Human Landing Catch. The Florida Keys Mosquito Control District with its many remote monitoring locations was one of our first customers to use the BG-Counter in their routine monitoring efforts. In this Video, Catherine Pruszynski from the Florida Keys Mosquito Control District shows you how to set up the BG-Counter with a solar panel. In this way, you can let your BG-Counter run at remote locations without being concerned about power supply. The Video was created by Bobby Grubic and Catherine Pruszynski. Biogents.
