Welcome to the official J Morris the Review Guy album review for the fifteenth studio length album by Brazilian heavy metal band Sepultura, entitled Quadra! Album genre type: Groove metal, thrash metal, progressive thrash metal. Well here we are! The heavy metal titan's followup to their 2017 album, Machine Messiah, one of their best albums they've ever released, due to production from the one and only Jens Bogren, who has worked with the likes of everyone from Between the Buried and Me, Kataonia, Opeth, Haken, Leprous, Wilderun, Babymetal, Swallow the Sun, Soilwork, Bloodbath, Amon Amarth and so, so many more. Quadra is everything that album was and more. They divide the record up into four parts based on the concept of the number four in relation to the Quadrivium. It's nerdy but I talk a bit about it in the video. Quadra is a roughened, heavy take on thrash metal, groove metal, progressive metal and melodic metal, all in that order. It's satisfying. It's not just satisfying, it's everything I would love to hear Sepultura be this far into their career. With a great hand at making diversity in heaviness and pushing the limits of extremity without losing their own accessible edge, Sepultura crafts an album that proves why they're held in great regard right side-by-side with the amazing and timelessly beloved Pantera...and while they're not going anywhere any time soon. This album is available now on Nuclear Blast Records! My favorite songs on this album are: Isolation - Means to an End - Last Time - Capital Enslavement - Ali - Raging Void - Guardians of Earth - The Pentagram - Quadra - Agony of Defeat.
