Another installment in the "Five Minutes to Save you Fifty series". Judging from the feedback ... we're on pace to get you a whole 40 hours back this year - in fact, we're expecting to hit that mark before the end of first half. Today's tip is a PowerPoint one (we will move on to other stuff for a couple of weeks and then come back to PowerPoint because there is lots more to show). The tip that is going to take you five minutes to learn and will save you fifty minutes if you don't already know it is .... The Painter (both in Format and Animation) mode. If you didn't know about this, you're going to kick yourself for all the time wasted in the past - but that's what this series is about - getting that time back. Have you ever had to apply the same animation to different objects in a PowerPoint build slide and tediously performed the same sequence of clicks and attribute adjustments so many times if felt like you worked on a factory line? What about getting all the titles in the same font, font size, or bullet formatting for a text box? (Usually a result of the stuff you need being in multiple presentations in different templates with the resultant being your time to stitch a story together via copy, paste, and manually adjust ... ugh ...). Are you the majority that just skipped over that formatting, sacrificing care and curation because of the time it would take to make it look like one slide deck so you settled for the 'duck tape' look? Then rejoice ... it's time to say hello to my little friend: The Painter.
