How to Store or Cache Data on Android Device? SharedPreferences Tutorial. I will teach you how to do remember me login in Android using MySQL PHP. Please note that this tutorial may work on your older Samsung Galaxy, LG, Oppo, Huawei, Sony or Nokia Android phones which run Android Operating Systems depended on their API version. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Source Code at https://goo.gl/EwOmqZ -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Android gives the abilities to store data offline. One of them is SharedPreferences Android Studio. It is a class (technically it is an interface) that let you create a file stored in the internal storage of your device to save data in a form of key value pair. You can cache simple form of data like integer, String etc. You cannot however save a Collection. However, it is good enough to store username and password for the later use without re enter the same ones. Apart from my tutorial of Android Studio PHP MySQL, in this video tutorial, first I start from how to retrieve username and password from PHP MySQL by using one of my library generic_asynctask_v2 which uses PostResponseAsyncTask class. Then I walk you through the basic of SharedPreferences and apply it save your username and password. Lastly, I use MD5Simply library to encrypt password into MD5 in Android and compare it against the MD5 password from MySQL.
