There is something magical about Utah's Dinosaur National Monument in the spring. 🌸 We spent the day on the Jones Hole Trail, wandering past blooming wildflowers and massive canyon walls to find the Deluge Shelter pictographs and petroglyphs. The highlight of our journey was reaching Ely Creek Falls, a stunning natural soundtrack to our desert hike. While the trail continues to the Green River, we found the falls to be the perfect turnaround point for a scenic afternoon. This hike delivers everything we love about exploring National Park Service lands: deep history, lush canyon scenery, and hidden water. As always, please remember that rock art is fragile and irreplaceable—look, admire, photograph, but never touch. In this video: • The Start: Setting off from the Jones Hole National Fish Hatchery • The History: Getting up close with the 1,000‑year‑old Fremont Culture rock art at Deluge Shelter • The Destination: Relaxing at the mossy, twin drops of Ely Creek Falls Plan your visit: • Distance: ~4 miles roundtrip (to the falls and back) • Difficulty: Easy to Moderate • Trail Map: Check out AllTrails for current conditions and elevation stats Don’t forget to Like and Subscribe to join G&D’s Journeys on our next adventure!
