Today I have a fun knee bounce song for families with Babies and Toddlers: Here We Go Bumpy Boo I adapted the song, "Here We Go Looby Loo" as a fun way to explore the concepts of Speed (Slow and Fast) and Directions (Up, Down, Sideways and Backwards). As young children are developing their own body control and coordination, they benefit greatly from experiencing these movement concepts physically through their caregivers' movements. Knee bounce activities are also a great way to support your young child's balance and vestibular system development, which is critical to their long term gross motor development. Balancing on your lap as they bounce up and down and side to side, also increases your little ones core strength! Finally, bouncing along to a rhythmic, rhyming song supports language acquistion! Children often sing before they speak, as the rhyhtmic quality of music is brain compatible! Who would have thought there were SO many benefits from a simple Knee Bounce song?
