“Hemdem” is where the two Turkish musicians really bring the guitar and the baglama together. They play hybrid versions of folk songs and combine Eastern and Western influences. He established the first Fretless Guitar department in the World in Istanbul Medipol University. Muhlis Berberoğlu, is a multi-instrumentalist folk music prodigy, who quite literally is never be seen without his bağlama in his hand. Out of the younger generation artists in the Turkish music scene, 27-year-old Berberoğlu has been a leader in promoting Anatolian folk music worldwide. Where in Anatolian folk music the guitar usually accompanies and the baglama indulges in breathtaking melodies and decorations, they much prefer to improvise music together. Their 2018 album 'Hemdem' scored high in the World Music Charts.
