Mathabo Matlou Teen Universe Reining Queen

A girl with big dreams and aspirations, including being known as ‘The World's Greatest’ Mathabo Matlou is a vibrant, intelligent, and confident 19-year-old from Johannesburg. She has been competing in pageants since the age of 8 and has earned over 15 titles. These achievements have led to her being scouted by various organisations to represent South Africa on international stages. In 2023, she was scouted to represent South Africa at the International Girl competition in Florida, USA, where she won and brought home the title of International Girl Teen Miss 2023. Winning this title opened many doors, including an invitation to participate in and represent South Africa at New York Fashion Week. She is the founder of the newly launched foundation called, VIC GIRL, a girl led nonprofit organisation where she believes in the notion to be vibrant, intelligent and confident and this is a message that she spreads to young girls and young women. Through this platform she has raised R21 000 to feed the needy and run food drives at Good Hope and Dokatole squatter camps and raise awareness around breast cancer partnering with Princess Nakedi foundation. She has collaborated with brands such as Always, and worked closely with NPOs including the Pad a Girl Organisation and the Footprints Foundation. Through pageantry, Mathabo hopes to reach not only a local audience but also inspire an international one, encouraging young people to use their voices and recognize the power they hold, just as she has.
