DAY 72 ZOE DAILY DEVOTIONS 13 MARCH 2026 Zoe Daily Devotions is a Movement of Daily Bible Reading in One Year through the Inspiration of the Holy Spirit. This is a place of encountering Jesus through the word of God. Title: Living Within God’s Loving Boundaries In Book of Proverbs 7:1–5 we see that God’s commands are not harsh restrictions but loving boundaries given by a caring Father. These instructions are meant to protect us and lead us into a life of wisdom, peace, and fullness. The writer urges us to store God’s commands in our hearts, guard them carefully, and treat them as something precious. When God’s Word becomes part of our inner life, it guides our decisions and keeps us from harmful paths. Through the work of the Holy Spirit, God writes His law on our hearts and gives us the ability to live according to His wisdom. In Gospel of Luke 1:1–25 we see inspiring examples of people who lived faithfully within God’s ways. Zechariah and Elizabeth were described as righteous before God, faithfully following His commands. Even though they waited many years for their prayers to be answered, they remained faithful. God eventually blessed them with the birth of John the Baptist, who would prepare the way for Jesus Christ. Their story reminds us that God hears our prayers and works according to His perfect timing. In Book of Leviticus we are reminded that God’s boundaries are given out of love. When people ignore His guidance, life often becomes chaotic and empty. Yet God’s mercy is always available, and through Jesus the curse of sin is removed and replaced with the blessing of new life through the Spirit. SCRIPTURE READING Proverbs 7:1-5 Luke 1:1-25 Leviticus 26:14-46 Leviticus 27 TREASURE SCRIPTURE Luke 1:17 17He will also go before Him in the spirit and power of Elijah, ‘to turn the hearts of the fathers to the children,’ and the disobedient to the wisdom of the just, to make ready a people prepared for the Lord.” Title: Preparing the Way for the Lord This passage from Gospel of Luke 1:17 describes the mission of John the Baptist, who was chosen to prepare the people for the coming of Jesus Christ. When it says that he would “go on before the Lord,” it highlights his role as a forerunner. Just as messengers in ancient times announced the arrival of a king, John’s ministry was to announce that the Messiah was coming and to prepare people’s hearts to receive Him. The phrase “in the spirit and power of Elijah” connects John’s mission to Elijah, the great prophet known for his courage and devotion to God. This does not mean John was literally Elijah returned, but that he carried the same prophetic authority and boldness. This fulfilled the prophecy in Book of Malachi that someone like Elijah would come before the day of the Lord. John’s message focused on repentance and restoration. His calling was “to turn the hearts of the fathers to their children,” emphasizing healing within families and restoring relationships that had been broken by sin. He also sought to turn the disobedient toward the wisdom of the righteous, leading people back to lives shaped by God’s truth. Ultimately, John’s purpose was “to make ready a people prepared for the Lord.” Through preaching repentance and calling people back to God, he prepared the way for the ministry of Jesus and the arrival of God’s kingdom. MEMORY VERSE Luke 1:13 NKJV 13But the angel said to him, “Do not be afraid, Zacharias, for your prayer is heard; and your wife Elizabeth will bear you a son, and you shall call his name John. PRAYER Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for the loving boundaries You have given to guide my life. Help me to keep Your Word in my heart and follow Your wisdom each day. Fill me with Your Holy Spirit so that I may live in obedience, love, and faithfulness to You.
