Follow us on Twitter -   / frontl1nesafety   Follow us on LinkedIn - http://linkd.in/1AhA3vA Here are 5 things you need to know before you purchase the MSA Altair 4XR Number 1 – it’s a multi-gas monitor, designed to simultaneously measure LEL, oxygen deficiency/oxygen enrichment, hydrogen sulphide and carbon monoxide. Configurations are also available with sensors for SO2 and NO2, but these are not available as standard. Number 2 – the 4XR has Bluetooth connectivity. This connects with the Altair app on the Google play store and provides live gas readings, instantAlert distress calls, man down alarms and non-compliance warnings Number 3 – the LED lights on the top of the monitor indicate compliance A flashing red LED shows that the unit has not been bump tested This will turn green when it has been bump tested The blue flashing light will indicate the 4XR’s Bluetooth status And Yellow is an indication of a fault Number 4 – It’s a tough detector, armed with a rugged exterior and tested to survive 25 drops from heights of around 4 feet high, or one drop on to concrete from 25ft high Number 5 – it replaces the MSA Altair 4X detector.
