#37 We Found Home In An Abandoned Mountain Farmhouse in Portugal

Spring has finally arrived on our mountain farm in Portugal. After months of rain, the days are getting longer, the sun is back, and life on the land begins to move again. A few episodes ago we asked you a simple question, what should we do with the old animal shelter on the farm? Hidden on the edge of the farm house orchard and overlooking the valley, it felt too special to ignore. Now we have our answer. In this episode we start transforming the forgotten shelter into our plant nursery, a place where new life will begin. As we’ll be spending many hours here planting and caring for seedlings, I build a simple wooden bench to use as our seed planting table. With the nursery ready, we finally get our seedlings started for the season. Elsewhere on the farm the clearing continues. Thick blackberry bushes are cut back, slowly revealing more of the past, including an old stone wall that had been hidden for decades. And with spring in full bloom, we take a moment to pause and soak in the blossoms filling our valley. Simple moments. Slow progress.
