Program Overview The Project Hockey IQ Bootcamp is a 5-week guided development program designed to help hockey players think the game faster and make better decisions in real game situations. This program goes far beyond highlights. Players are taught how to read the ice, anticipate plays, and build habits that consistently show up during games — not just in drills. The Bootcamp is delivered through Google Classroom and includes: -10 live Zoom coaching sessions (2 per week) -All Zoom sessions recorded and available on-demand -Structured Hockey IQ assignments and challenges -Ongoing check-ins, feedback, and accountability -Two separate position-specific tracks: Forward Hockey IQ Bootcamp Defense Hockey IQ Bootcamp Position-specific video breakdowns tailored to each role Players are coached within their position group, learning from video examples that match the reads, decisions, and habits required for their position. Position-Specific Development Forwards Will Learn How To: -Read pressure and make better decisions with the puck -Create space for themselves and teammates -Use delays to buy time until support arrives -Attack odd-man rushes (2-on-1s, 3-on-2s) effectively -Find scoring opportunities without forcing plays Defensemen Will Learn How To: -Scan before retrievals and read forecheck pressure -Manage gaps and kill plays early in the neutral zone -Create time with footwork and deception -Execute clean exits and first-pass decisions -Defend efficiently without overcommitting -Weekly Learning Breakdown Each week builds intentionally across all three zones: Week 1 – Defensive Zone: Positioning, scanning, reads, and habits that help players win shifts defensively. Week 2 – Clean Exits & Delays: Connecting the defensive zone to the neutral zone with composure and purpose. Week 3 – Neutral Zone IQ: Gap control, killing plays early, transition reads, and managing numbers. Week 4 – Offensive Zone Decisions: Deception, finding space, smart entries, and making plays under pressure. Week 5 – Game Management & Pro Habits: Putting everything together and learning how high-level players manage the game.
