Grant lives in a housing estate in Villawood surrounded by drugs, crime and boredom. His flat mate is loser who never pays his rent and all that Grant wants to do is to get the hell out of there. When he is faced with the plight of an unwelcome visitor, Grant gets a chance to the view the world through someone else’s eyes. He may still have the chance to be free. ‘Lost in the Woods’ is the result of 9 months creative engagement with men living in the Urana Street Housing estate. The stories were collected from real life experiences and developed in performance, character and script development workshops. This film provides an insight into the real lives of people living in public housing in Western Sydney. This is a short video examining how the film was made.
