Art by Kai! https://x.com/CalamariSpider ALRIGHT FINALLY, HERE IT IS. I was torn completely at a 25/25/25/25 split between four different Will Wood songs to cover, knowing I only really had the time and motivation to do one, so I left it to a vote on Twitter! And the RESOUNDING winner was this! I’ve loved this song so much since the first time I heard it, and it was even the first song I heard from the Tapeworms era, so I had absolutely zero qualms covering this. It was a huge challenge! I surely disturbed/scared/aggravated my neighbours! I had a sore throat for literally a week after! … and it was an absolute blast to make! [: ] I hope that fun carries, and I hope you all enjoyed the 9-Day Freak Extravaganza that I decided to call Chaos Week!!! --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- LYRICS: What if the wind caught up with me - started to change when I did? Would I blow out like a light, or like a kite, fly away? What if the fear of darkness gave way to the fear of colour? Would you live in black and white, or rest your eyes through the day? And if dreams can come true, what does that say about nightmares? I’ll stay awake tonight… Cry my name, remind my brain of my identity. I’m not gonna listen. I’m not my volition. I’m sha-na-na-na-na-na-na-na free will. Am I to blame for riding this train right by my destiny? Oh, prove I can crack. Ah, loose from the track. Ah, sha-na-na-na-na-na-na-na free will. Rolling my third eye into the back of my head and squinting through the black. Saw no centre. Saw not where it led. It’s times like this that make me wish that - I wished that I were dead. I don’t wish I were dead. But somebody’s got to go! I wanna make my murder look like a suicide. But they’ll all know, they’ll all know, they’ll all know that the body’s mine. I wanna go anonymous to identify. But they’ll all know, they’ll all know, they’ll all know, they’ll all know, they’ll all know that the body’s mine. Divide by one and find I’m one less than the one I was. Oh, how many people am I, now that I keep ‘em in my sha-na-na-na-na-na-na-na memory? Check in the mirror to see how I look - I look different in different ways. Oh, you do the math. Oh, who’s looking back?! Ah, sha-na-na-na-na-na-na-na that’s not me! Carving my initials in the back of my hand in case of losing track. I forgot, remember to forgive? It’s times like this that make me wish that - I wished that I could live. I don’t wish I could live. But somebody’s got to stay! I wanna make my murder look like a suicide. But they’ll all know, they’ll all know, they’ll all know that the body’s mine. I wanna go anonymous to identify. But they’ll all know, they’ll all know, they’ll all know, they’ll all know, know it’s mine. AH! I look in the eyes that stare through mine and wonder which see the living. Theirs seem to be oh, so white, while mine are shades of bloodied pink. And if Jules or Rene could see me now, would they be so forgiving? I’m not convinced that I am - just that I think, and I will not blink, ‘cos if dreams can come true, what does that say about nightmares? I’ll stay awake tonight. I wanna make my murder look like a suicide. (Kill me! Kill Me! 殺して! 殺して!) But they’ll all know, they’ll all know, they’ll all know that the body’s mine. (Mourir! Mourir! Kill me! Kill me!) I wanna go anonymous to identify. (Kill me! Kill Me! 殺して! 殺して!) But they’ll all know, they’ll all know, they’ll all know, they’ll all know, they’ll all know that the body’s mine. (Mourir! 殺して! Kill me!) 死. 死. 死. 死. 死. 死. 死. 死. 死.
