Heritage steam came back to the SVR in a big way during August, with thousands of visitors travelling up and down our 16-mile line through Worcestershire and Shropshire. But what about the extensive fleet of diesel locomotives? Well, they were far from idle as you’ll find out in our film, as you meet some of the folk who maintain, overhaul and drive the SVR’s diesel locomotives. They’re looking forward to Fridays in September, when the Pioneer service will see different classes of diesel locomotive making three return trips along the line, to give enthusiasts the chance to clock up 96 miles in a single day.
