Mawlana Hazir Imam’s visit to Portugal (Lisbon) brought a deeply moving day of spiritual connection, guidance, and community-building. In this video you can see the highlights on the second day of the visit at the Ismaili Centre Lisbon, including the intimate youth mulaqat, which was held in the Darkhana prayer hall, an inspiring address to multifaith families, & the bringing-out of a meaningful community art piece. The title was “Journey Home.” This footage captures moments of sincere dialogue and encouragement as Mawlana Hazir Imam (A.S) engaged directly with young people came from Portugal and Spain. The youth mulaqat emphasized leadership, services, and ethical living themes that resonate strongly with young members seeking purpose and involvement within the community. In a moving session with multifaith couples, Hazir Imam (A.S) called for the kindness and inclusion, urging the Ismaili community to treat non-Ismaili spouses with the same sincerity and respect as Ismaili partners. A message about family, unity, and social responsibility that speaks directly to interfaith harmony and community bonds. The Journey Home art installation — co-created by the Portugal and Spain Jamats using some sustainably sourced materials which is visually and symbolically rich. Hundreds of handcrafted drops of water, and each bearing a handwritten message to the Imam (A.S), flow toward a sculpted sea: a poetic metaphor for the individual spiritual journeys of murids merging into the divine power.
