Like | Share | Subscribe | Comment Part 2 of 3 Grave excavation in Singapore. Due to the limited land space we have here in Singapore. Even the dead at Lim Chu Kang cemetery can't escape the plans the government have. Every 15 to 20 years, it's compulsory to excavate or exhume the corpse and send for cremation. As recent as few years back, one of the oldest cemetery in Singapore - Bukit Brown cemetery excavated 80% of the grave to make way for a new flyover for motor cars to travel as to ease the morning peak hours jam. Those graves at Bukit Brown cemetery who are of someone with status are still there as a historic heritage. Some people wonder, what if the rich want to extend? No escape, even the wealthy are not allowed to "buy" another 15 or 20 years. It's a law here in Singapore. Excavating or Exhuming the bones is quite a tiring process and also messes one's mind. 5pm local time is the time they can start the excavation as that's the time the sun set and it might last till the next day morning before the sunrise. This documentary is meant to show you that such jobs and tradition is still around here in Singapore. This is part of Singapore culture. Stay tune for part 3! =) Social Media Connect: Facebook: Rachatitipong Instagram: Rachatitipong & Jojo_titipong TikTok: Rachatitipong Big THANK YOU to: Hup Keong Funeral Services (Ah Boy)
