பழனி முருகன் கோவில் வரலாறு | Palani Murugan Temple History in Tamil The Palani Murugan Temple in Tamil Nadu, India, is a sacred Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Murugan. The temple is located in the Palani Hills, atop the Sivagiri hill.  History: The temple's origins are unclear, but some say the idol of Lord Murugan was placed by the sage Bogar.  The temple was built on the orders of a Chola Dynasty king between the second and fifth century AD.  According to Hindu mythology, Idumban carried the hillock from Kailasha to Palani at the request of sage Agastya.  Murugan then placed the hillock in its current location.  Features : The temple is one of the six abodes of Murugan, known as the Arupadaiveedu The temple's Garbagriham has a gold gopuram. The walls of the Garbagriham have stone inscriptions that describe offerings made by devotees. There are steps hewn into the rock, and a wide path for elephants to ascend the hill. The temple is managed by the Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments Department of the Government of Tamil Nadu.
