This video is for informative purposes only and I do not own the show in which this video was recorded. All credits go to the Mediacorp show, 迷离夜 1988 (Mystery S1). Very sorry that I forgot which episodes they were from already, I only recall screen-recording the parts where interesting old elevators are involved. This video shows the vintage Express elevator, supplied by General Electric Company (GEC) at Block 79 Toa Payoh Central. This was the type of Express elevator found almost everywhere in Toa Payoh's Housing Development Board (HDB) buildings. Most of them were upgraded by Fujitec in the late-1980s (such as Blocks 61,59 and 57 Toa Payoh Lorong 5). However, this block's Express elevators were not upgraded. PLEASE NOTE: This place has been demolished already under the Selective En-Bloc Redevelop Scheme in 2003. Now in its place is the new Blocks 79A to 79E Toa Payoh (40-storeys)
