The fintech landscape is fast emerging as an ecosystem play with the pandemic-induced accelerated digitalisation trends, opening up an array of opportunities that go way beyond the payments and allied spaces. Tech startups have been adopting the partnership or acquisition route, especially in the financial services and banking sphere, to expand their user base and access lower cost of funds. In this panel, we will explore the buildout of fintech ecosystems, super apps and newer monetisation models. We feature Xendit co-founder and COO Tessa Wijaya, who is responsible for the overall business operations of the company, including service and support, partnerships, government, and public relations, as well as compliance. Tessa believes in changing the world at scale through technology. She is keen on building Indonesia and South East Asia’s digital infrastructure by providing the best payment solutions. From the startup side, we also have Iwan Kurniawan, the co-founder and COO of Modalku, a digital lending and credit technology platform in SE Asia for micro, small and medium enterprises. Modalku is funded by leading investors Sequoia, Softbank Ventures Asia, LINE Ventures, Alpha JWC among others. From the investors’ side, we have Dimitra Taslim, VP, GGV Capital, who invests in the areas of Web3, SMBTech, FoodTech, EdTech, and FinTech. We also have Sandeep Patil, Partner & Head of Asia, QED Investors. Patil has extensive experience in consumer internet and is a global veteran of the banking and financial services industry. From the banking side, we have Dyota Marsudi currently serving as President Director at Bank Aladin, the first Islamic digital bank in Indonesia with the aim of opening and facilitating access to digital-based Islamic banking services. The fintech session will be moderated by Dmitry Levit, founder of Cento Ventures, where he leads investment and fund activities in Southeast Asia.
