The 40 year old is a living football legend and will no doubt be a first ballot NFL Hall of Famer. Despite only being recruited to two Division 1 programs, Purdue and Kentucky, Brees excelled during his college football career. He had hoped to follow his father or his uncle's footsteps and play for the Texas Longhorns or Texas A & M Aggies, but was not heavily recruited despite his stellar record. He ultimately selected Purdue for their academic reputation – and let’s just say he made more than a few Boilermaker fans pretty happy. In his college career, Brees set two NCAA records, 13 Big Ten Conference records, and 19 Purdue University records. He was a finalist for the Davey O'Brien Award as the nation's best quarterback in 1999 and took home the Maxwell Award as the nation's most outstanding player of 2000. He also finished top five in Hesiman voting twice – so needless to say, he proved the recruiters that doubted him out of high school wrong. And throughout his career – Brees continued to pour it on.
