Lucid Air First Drive: Blown Away by Luxury & Tech (Is It Better Than Tesla?)

My buddy Kobe (‪@smidgelife‬) and I headed down to Rove in Santa Ana for a demo drive of the incredible Lucid Air! I was secretly hoping to see the Gravity SUV, but getting behind the wheel of this stunning white Lucid Air sedan, even on a rainy California day (you know, a sprinkle is a downpour for us!), was an awesome experience. Right off the bat, the luxury hits you – massage seats for both driver AND passenger! We dive into the futuristic cockpit, checking out the massive touchscreen, the surprisingly good visibility around the main screen, and that super impressive 360-degree camera system – seriously, Tesla, take notes on that front camera! I took the first leg of the drive, and even on "Smooth" mode, this car glides. I compare the ride to my experiences with the Tesla Model X, and honestly, it's incredibly comfortable and refined. We explore the intuitive UI, the surprising inclusion of Apple CarPlay, and cool features like the blind-spot cameras. We even tried to get the auto-park to work, though it seemed a bit picky in our spot! After our drive in the Grand Touring (top trim!), we also got to check out the interior of the Touring trim, admiring the Alcantara, leather, and spaciousness – especially that legroom in the back and the massive frunk! One of the biggest surprises? This amazing ride quality isn't from air suspension; it’s an advanced adaptive suspension that just eats up the bumps. Overall, I'm seriously impressed with the Lucid Air. It’s a phenomenal piece of engineering with incredible tech and luxury. If you have a Lucid showroom nearby, you HAVE to go for a test drive.
