Holman-Moody conquered the tracks in NASCAR but also became synonymous with precision engineering. In the late 1950s and throughout the 1960s, Holman-Moody became a force to be reckoned with in NASCAR (National Association for Stock Car Auto Racing). The team's success on the track was inseparable from Ford Motor Company's desire to dominate the series, and Holman-Moody was the de facto Ford "Factory Team" in NASCAR. Their meticulous approach to engine building contributed significantly to the team's numerous victories and championships. One of those defining moments came in 1965 when Holman-Moody built engines powered Ned Jarrett's Ford to victory in the Southern 500 at Darlington Raceway. This triumph solidified their reputation as a master engine builders and showcased the technical superiority of Holman-Moody engines. While Holman-Moody made a name for itself in NASCAR, Ford's ambitions extended beyond American soil, so team ventured into international competitions, including endurance racing events like the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Holman-Moody engines powered Ford GT40s to victories at Le Mans in 1966 and 1967, marking historic moments in motorsport history. Holman-Moody also produced some of the greatest engine builders to torque a set of rod bolts - Keith Dorton, Waddell Wilson and Robert Yates.
