Liz Garnett's Creative Pilgrimage following the Augustine Camino from Rochester to Ramsgate in Kent

Photographer and author, Liz Garnett, follows the Augustine Camino in Kent with six other local artists and responds to her journey in photography. This video is a creative exploration of Liz’s journey along a new pilgrimage route. The journey started in November 2019 and was split into 14 short walks. The aim was to complete the pilgrimage in a year by undertaking two walks a month. The pandemic got in the way and it wasn’t until August 2021 that Liz and her fellow art pilgrims completed their journey. The Augustine Camino runs from Rochester to Ramsgate via Aylesford Priory, Faversham and Canterbury and takes in parts of the North Downs Way, Pilgrims Way and Stour Valley Way. As well as the beautiful landscape of Kent's North Downs and the Kent Plains, the route visits many beautiful churches and the cathedrals of Canterbury and Rochester. For the energetic, the route can be completed in under a week. However, taking it slowly gives the pilgrim the chance to view the county in closer detail.
