Law and Justice Research Foundation COLLEGIUM ELEVATES SENIOR LAWYER KV VISWANATHAN AS SC JUDGE ➢ Justice Viswanathan would be in line to be the 58th Chief Justice of India in August 2030, succeeding Justice J.B. Pardiwala as top judge ➢ He was designated Senior Advocate by the Supreme Court in 2009. He has also served as the Solicitor General of India in 2013. ➢ He worked as a junior with senior advocate KK Venugopal from 1990 to 1995. ➢ Justice KV Viswanathan will be the third Chief Justice of India from Tamil Nadu ➢ The appointment of Supreme Court judges is a crucial process governed by constitutional provisions in India which are outlined in Articles 124 and 124A of the Constitution of India.
