We leave a wet and soggy Andorra and climb over the mountains to a sunny France. The pace is slower at the start to take in the views and wet roads but picks up when it's dry, the road into Quillan was spectacular! Our digs for the night in the Medieval Fortress city of Carcassone was right outside the battlements and was a simpler choice after the expensive hotel in Andorra but was no less impressive. The simple supper on the terrace of locally bought wine, cheese, sausage and bread, whilst looking out onto the view of the old town, was a great way to end the day.
