The Australian mezzo-soprano, Cassandra Doyle, was born in Sydney and is an alumnus of the Conservatorium High School and Sydney Conservatorium of Music. In the 2023 finals of the IFAC Handa Australian Singing Competition, Cassandra was awarded the Canadian Vocal Arts Institute (CVAI) Montreal Scholarship assisted by the Nell Pascal Award, the Zeke Solomon Award to attend the Israeli Opera Young Artist program at the Meitar Opera Studio. She has also been a recipient of the Stefan Kruger Scholarship (2MBS Fine Music FM, 2024), Istituto Italiano di Cultura Award, and Goethe-Institut Prize (IFAC Handa Australian Singing Competition 2022, 2023), Patricia Bell Grant (2020), Patricia Long Scholarship (2023) and George and Margaret Henderson Scholarships (2023, 2024) afforded her the opportunity attend the Royal Northern College of Music (RNCM) in Manchester on a short-exchange and pursue further study in Europe. Since relocating to Germany in 2024, Cassandra was a member of the Opernstudio NRW, a young artist of the Salzburger Festspiele 'Young Singers Project', and a young artist of the Georg Solti Accademia. In the 2024/25 season, Cassandra performed the roles of Die würdige Dame in Der Spieler (Prokofiev) at the Salzburger Festspiele, Flora Bervoix in La Traviata (Verdi) at Oper Dortmund, Hänsel in Große Oper Klein: Hänsel und Gretel (Humperdinck) at Oper Wuppertal, Tisbe in La Cenerentola (Rossini), Blumenmädchen in Parsifal (Wagner) and Mrs Moreno in The Listeners (Mazzoli) at the Aalto Musiktheater Essen. She also sang in “Oper on Fire” gala concert at Musiktheater im Revier Gelsenkirchen. She joined the Ensemble of Staatsoper Hannover and began the season debuting the role of Donna Elvira - from which this recording comes. Cassandra is joined by Matteo Guerzè as Don Giovanni and Serhii Moskalchuk as Leporello in the trio from Act II of Mozart's opera. The Niedersächsisches Staatsorchester Hannover is conducted by Mario Hartmuth in this performance from October 21st 2025 at the Staatsoper Hannover.
