Dr Tom Dowling is a scientist working in the field of temperature validation, examining what satellites get right and get wrong about measuring the planet's surface temperature. As we see in the video, scientists are underestimating just how hot days are getting because of biases in how satellites work. While measurements over Europe and North America are reasonably accurate, when surface temperatures get hot in Africa, everything goes a bit pear-shaped...
