Lake Saif-ul-Maluk is at 10,578 feet above sea level and is considered one of the most beautiful within the Kaghan Valley. The lake is around 30-40 minutes drive from Naran, one can hire 4x4 jeeps to get to the lake. Water from this glacial lake feeds the Kunhar river, further, it provides a great view of Peak of the snow-capped Malika Parbat Mountain. The place is busy usually during the summer season as people from across Pakistan visit this lake to enjoy the scenic views and mesmerizing landscape. One can also ride on horses along the banks of the lake, hop on a boat and get to the other side of the lake where a trail leads Aansoo lake and Malika Parbat base camp. This lake has a mythical story of fairies and princes falling in love here. It was a treat to visit with Storytellers narrating the story while we had chai and pakoras.
