Exploring Muktinath | Dhumba Lake | Marpha Village | Day 3 | Mustang Series #mustang #nepal #travel #anishvlogs #vlog #jomsom #marpha #dhumbalake #mountains On Day 3 of our Nepal travel series, we started our journey from Jomsom (Mustang District) and travelled towards the sacred Muktinath Temple, one of the most important pilgrimage sites for both Hindus and Buddhists. The temple is located at an altitude of around 3,800 meters, making it one of the highest temples in the world. The distance from Jomsom to Muktinath is roughly 20–22 km, passing through beautiful Himalayan villages such as Kagbeni and Jharkot, with stunning views of the Kali Gandaki Valley and surrounding mountains. The road in this section is mostly mountain off-road and gravel, with steep climbs and dusty stretches, which makes the journey adventurous but very scenic. After visiting Muktinath Temple and exploring the surrounding area, we returned towards Jomsom and then visited Dhumba Lake, a peaceful freshwater lake located about 5.5 km west of Jomsom at an altitude of around 2,830 meters. The lake is considered sacred and is surrounded by prayer flags with beautiful views of the Nilgiri and Dhaulagiri mountain ranges. Later in the evening, we continued our short drive to Marpha, a beautiful traditional Thakali village located about 8 km from Jomsom in the Lower Mustang region. Marpha is famous for its apple orchards, traditional stone houses, monasteries, and local apple products. We ended Day 3 by exploring the peaceful streets of Marpha and stayed there overnight, enjoying the calm mountain atmosphere.
