Die 3 Rockabellas der Silverettes touren seit zehn Jahren und sind genau so lang bei ToBaGo Records unter Vertrag. Nach einigen anfänglichen Besetzungswechseln ist das Trio zu einer festen Arbeitseinheit geworden, welches sein eigenes Material schreibt, spielt und singt sowie Lieder anderer Künstler und Genres in ihrem einzigartigen Stil arrangiert. The Silverettes sind: IRA: Gesang, Gitarre, Ukulele, Akkordion und Bass JANE: Gesang, Kontrabass, E-Bass, und Saxophon HONEY: Gesang, Schlagzeug und Percussion Die Gruppe wurde 2011 durch die Musiker und Produzenten Pomez di Lorenzo und Adriano Batolba in Essen gegründet.Die Sängerinnen wurden zunächst von den drei Musikern Andreas Bach (Gitarre), Bernhard Weichninger (Schlagzeug) und Christoph Herder (Kontrabass) begleitet[2] und begannen als Vorgruppe bei Dick Brave, Boppin’B und The BossHoss. Das erste Album bestand 2014 vorwiegend noch aus Coverversionen. So wurden Titel wie Girls Just Want to Have Fun von Cyndi Lauper, Evacuate The Dancefloor von Cascada oder Do You Really Want to Hurt Me von Culture Club im Rockabilly Style dargeboten. Das zweite Album bestand, bis auf zwei Ausnahmen, komplett aus Eigenkompositionen. Julia Fette und Saskia Krisse verließen aus persönlichen Gründen die Band und wurden durch Janina Ruopp und Nina Kappeller ersetzt. 2020 kam Hannah van Do als Ersatz für die ausgeschiedene Nina zur Band. Mit dem dritten Album übernahmen die Mitglieder zusätzlich auch die Instrumente. Ein absolutes Novum! Abzusehen war diese fulminante Entwicklung nicht, als die Ladies ursprünglich als Backgroundchor des Rock’n’Roll-Ensembles The Golden Boys zusammenfanden. 2010 machten sich The Silverettes selbständig, vier Jahre später stand das trefflich betitelte Debüt „Real Rock ’n’ Roll Chicks“ in realen wie digitalen Verkaufregalen. Nach Auftritten im Vorprogramm von einschlägigen Acts wie Dick Brave & The Backbeats, Boppin‘ B. oder The BossHoss galt die Truppe rasch als Insidertip. Mit perfekt dreistimmigen Satzgesang meisterte das Triumvirat den Sprung vom Beiwerk zum Hauptact. Ein absolutes Novum im Rock’n’Roll. Zumal ja auch die gegenwärtige Rockabilly-Szene nach wie vor nur allzu gerne an überkommenen Rollenklischees festhält: Gelten bei nicht wenigen der penibel pomadierten Haartollenträgern doch weibliche Wesen nach wie vor lediglich als „schmückendes Beiwerk“. Insofern leisten The Silverettes mit TALK DIRTY auch noch ein Stück Emanzipationsarbeit.
