Brain Sawaya explains what luck is and how proper planning can help you engineer good luck. Brian Sawaya is a second year undergraduate at Foothill and De Anza College studying Mechanical Engineering with a focus in biological applications. He found himself getting heavily involved on campus, most notably leading Foothill Robotics, achieving the Outstanding Club of the Year award, as well as working on low-cost electromyography applications, which was presented at the 2024 MIT Human Augmentation Summit. His passion (and luck) led him to intern at the Winetraub Lab at Stanford where he worked on a human-machine interface for noninvasive detection of cancer. He is currently working on bioengineering applications for space technology, and is looking to transfer to a 4-year in the fall. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
