When you live with chronic pain or chronic symptoms, you’re often told one of two things. Rest more or push through. But what happens when resting makes symptoms worse, and pushing makes symptoms worse too? In this video, I break down why this dilemma is so common in chronic pain, what’s actually happening in the nervous system, and why this isn’t about finding the “right” answer. We’ll talk about: Why people who like control, order, and doing things properly often get stuck in this loop How internal pressure and self-management overload the nervous system Why we’ve been taught that healing should bring immediate relief, and how that belief keeps people stuck The role of fear and uncertainty in recovery Why adaptability and flexibility are the real skills being learned How learning to tolerate discomfort helps you make clearer choices without constantly second guessing yourself This approach isn’t about rigid rules or perfect decisions.
