Margaret MacMillan – a Canadian historian and professor at the University of Oxford, gave a lecture at UCU on “Using History to Understand the Present”. The inaugural lecture was held on the occasion of the inauguration of the Mykola Hayevoy Modern History Center, which was jointly founded by the Ukrainian Catholic University and the Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München. Professor MacMillan is a former provost of Trinity College, Toronto, and professor of history at the University of Toronto and previously at Ryerson University. MacMillan is an expert on the history of international relations. She is the author of the book "War: How Conflict Shaped Us"
