I am using a M20 bolt to make the Thor hammer. Most of the material is removed using an angle grinder with a grinding wheel. Then I used a flat file, as soon as I reached the root of the thread. Using a plastic body of a marker pen and a steel rod, I have fixed the blank to a cordless drill to make it perfect round. Diameter of the rod is 16 mm. Now flat surface of the Thor hammer can be be made. Width between the the sides are 13 mm. Here also I am using a flat file to achieve desired the results. Then the edges are chamfered and and the whole hammer is polished using a 150 grit sand paper. Now we can etch the pattern at the edge of the hammer. I am masking the portions that has to the etched and spray painted the hammer head. After removing the masking tap the hammer is dipped in to 30% ferric chloride solution. After etching the paint is removed using acetone. Lines on the side is marked and scratched in using an hack saw blade. Also on the bottom two cuts are made using a hack saw. Hole for the handle is drilled using a 1.5 mm drill bit and a needle is used as the core of the handle. I am using 5 min epoxy to fix the handle to the hammer head. Once the handle is fixed I have cut it to the required length 32 mm. Now parts for the Thor hammer handle is made from a 6 mm bolt, rose wood and a 0.7 mm aluminium sheet. Diameter of the handle is 3 mm. Handle is made by sandwiching rose wood and aluminium sheet, every thing is glued using epoxy. Handle is sanded to shape using a dermal and sand paper.
