Anthony Hurst shared this session titled "Selfish Service?" at REACH 2025 in Pittsburgh at the DLCC. Here are his questions to consider: 1. Am I faithful in my most obvious responsibilities? 2. Do I delight in the success and praise of others, or do I enjoy hearing them criticized? 3. Do I feel threatened by others serving in similar capacities? 4. Can I handle suggestions or even criticism? 5. Or do I demand a steady flow of affirmation? 6. Does my love for someone evaporate when love is not reciprocal? 7. Am I offended when not asked to do something I enjoy and know I’m capable of doing well? 8. Am I willing to serve outside of my interest or below my skill set? 9. Do I seek opportunities to talk about my service? About REACH: REACH is a bi-annual convention of conservative Anabaptist ministries held every other March hosted by Faith Builders. This gathering serves to connect the ministries with each other and with their supporting communities. The first day of the event focuses on equipping personnel who are already serving in ministries around the world; the second day introduces attendees to opportunities for service and to the skills needed for effective ministry work. Our vision: An increase in the quality and quantity of ministry efforts by conservative Anabaptists. That the earth may be filled with the knowledge of the glory of God. This recording is released in collaboration with Christian Learning Resource, the bookstore at Faith Builders.
